"This place was great!! I was surprised with all the low reviews. There was no bad smell, the service was fast and friendly, and the food was fantastic! We loved the seafood paella and the garlic shrimp. Will be back again xx"

"My friend and I had a fantastic afternoon at Taberna Salamanca in La Latina! The tapas were delicious, and the drinks hit the spot. Julián, the bartender, was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. The hostess was equally welcoming, ensuring we had everything we needed. The ambiance was cozy and perfect for a relaxed afternoon. Definitely a place we'll return to on our next visit to Madrid. I'll definitely return the next time I'm in Madrid. Pro tip: there's table seating behind the bar and upstairs!"

"We arrived as a fairly large and wonderfully international group — which meant plenty of opinions, expectations, and opportunities for disagreement. Yet somehow everyone left happy. In modern life, that feels less like customer service and more like a small sociological miracle. Tucked away on the lively Cava Baja in La Latina, Taberna Salamanca is the sort of place that seems comfortably unconcerned with trends. The interior is charmingly old-fashioned, filled with photographs, curiosities and the kind of decorative clutter that walks a fine line between nostalgia and chaos. Thankfully, it lands on the right side. One pleasant surprise was learning that the restaurant is run by Ukrainian immigrants, with much of the team coming from Ukraine as well. They manage the place admirably: efficient, welcoming and genuinely professional, without the exaggerated performance that sometimes accompanies service in heavily touristed areas. The food follows the classic Spanish tapas-bar playbook. No culinary manifestos, no edible smoke, no desperate attempts to reinvent the potato. Just reliable favourites done properly. The patatas bravas, croquetas, huevos rotos and rabo de toro delivered exactly what they promised: comfort, flavour and the reassuring sense that not every meal needs to be a life-changing experience. Service was impressively quick, even for our sizeable group. One thing to note: this is more a place for eating and conversation than lingering over coffee and dessert. In fact, you won’t find much of the latter. Perhaps that’s part of the charm. In Madrid, sometimes the wisest course is to enjoy a good meal, raise a glass, and continue your evening before it quietly turns into tomorrow. A solid, honest spot in La Latina. No fireworks, no disappointments — and that may be rarer than we’d like to admit."

"Good food, cozy small space, everything good apart from the blonde man waiter who pretty much kicked us out and was rude, still recommend and is a risk for me to recommend after this blonde server was so rude."
